Just as I'm watching this and he is talking about the Eye of Horus relating to the pituitary, pineal, hippocampus and so on, the glands in the brain, I was reminded of something that the meditation teacher, Brahmarshi Patiji, said at the workshop in London. He was talking about focusing on the third eye when meditating and how regular meditation opens the third eye allowing us to access higher levels of consciousness. Then he quoted Jesus from the Bible:
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. We cannot know for sure what Jesus meant by this and I'm sure there are many interpretations. It is interesting though, as when I focus on the third eye during meditation with physical eyes closed, I have always seen pulsating bursts of colour that explode in my mind's eye and withdraw exactly as do the rhythmic ebbing and flowing of the waves on the shore. It reminds me of how I once lay for hours on the sand on a quiet beach with the warm sea lapping over my body. The rhythm of the tide as it washed softly over me and gently retreated combined with the rhythm of my breathing until I had no awareness of anything but the inbreath and the outbreath, as though the sea and I were one. I can only describe those moments as pure ecstasy. I could have stayed like that forever.
