A word picture
The man paddles in the clear, shallow waters scanning the surface of the submerged sand for smooth, flat stones. As his eyes fix upon one he likes, he bends sharply and snatches it up, turning it briefly in his hand before tossing it into the water. If he has aimed well and the stone is of a good weight, it will skim the surface of the water and leap like a fish two or three times before disappearing beneath the rippling blue waves.
